Job Overview:
We are seeking a knowledgeable and passionate Instructor/Lecturer to teach Software Design Solutions for the Fall 1, 2025 term. This course is designed to help students understand the principles and practices of designing robust, scalable, and maintainable software systems. The ideal candidate will bring real-world experience, strong academic grounding, and a commitment to student success.
Key Responsibilities:
– Deliver engaging lectures on software design methodologies, including object-oriented design, UML, and architectural patterns.
– Introduce students to core design principles such as SOLID, DRY, and KISS, and how they apply in professional software environments.
– Teach the application of various design patterns and frameworks in modern software development.
– Guide students through hands-on projects and coding exercises that simulate real-world software design challenges.
– Evaluate student performance through assignments, assessments, and practical activities.
– Foster an interactive learning environment that encourages critical thinking and problem-solving.
– Stay current with industry trends, tools, and best practices in software design and development.
– Adhere to academic policies and contribute to the institute’s academic excellence.
Qualifications:
– Education: Master’s or Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
– Experience: Previous university-level teaching experience is preferred. Practical experience in software development, design, or architecture is essential.
– Skills: Proficiency in object-oriented programming, software architecture, design patterns, and tools such as UML, Visual Studio, or similar.
– Technology: Familiarity with collaborative development tools (e.g., Git), version control, and online learning platforms.
– Language: Must be fluent in English (Arabic is an added advantage).
Legal Requirements:
Must currently reside in Qatar and hold a valid Qatari ID.
