Job Opportunity: Senior Design Engineer (Renewable Energy)
We are currently seeking a highly qualified Senior Design Engineer specialized in Renewable Energy to join our esteemed Electricity and Power Government Client in Qatar.
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Master’s degree, or higher in Energy, Economics, Policy, or related fields from a reputable university.
- 7-10 years of extensive experience in renewable energy policy, strategy, and regulations, with a particular focus on solar, wind, and other renewable sources. Experience in GCC countries will be considered a plus.
- Proven track record in advising utilities or governments on renewable energy strategy, policy, and energy economy, with a strong emphasis on solar projects.
- In-depth knowledge of financial incentives instruments for renewables, including REC (Renewable Energy Certificate) systems, FiTs, etc.
- Demonstrated experience working with various stakeholders and managing multidisciplinary tasks effectively.
- Exceptional problem-solving, analytical, research, and program development skills.
- Strong team-building, conflict resolution, communication skills, and the ability to work collaboratively.
- Proficiency in project management, including planning, risk management, team coordination, project activity development, monitoring, follow-up, and time management.
- Capability to work both independently and as part of a diverse team.
- Competency in utilizing relevant computer software and analysis tools for renewable energy projects.
- Fluency in written and spoken English. Proficiency in Arabic is a plus.
Responsibilities: As a Senior Design Engineer in Renewable Energy, you will be responsible for:
- Developing and implementing renewable energy policies, strategies, and regulations, with a primary focus on solar energy.
- Providing expert advice and consultancy to utilities and government entities regarding renewable energy initiatives.
- Identifying and utilizing financial incentives instruments such as REC systems and FiTs to drive renewable energy adoption.
- Collaborating with various stakeholders to ensure effective project execution and positive outcomes.
- Conducting in-depth research and analysis to inform renewable energy decisions and recommendations.
- Leading and participating in cross-functional teams to achieve project objectives.
- Managing renewable energy projects from planning to completion, while ensuring adherence to timelines and mitigating potential risks.
