Job Description: As a Patient Administrator, you will play a crucial role in ensuring efficient and accurate patient registration and administrative processes. Your attention to detail and commitment to patient privacy and satisfaction will contribute to the success of our medical facility.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct accurate and complex patient registrations in ambulatory settings, exceeding department service expectations.
- Perform precise medical record selection, identifying and reporting duplicate medical record numbers to ensure patient safety.
- Maintain patient privacy and confidentiality during all administrative operations.
- Successfully complete insurance pre-authorization eligibility, including direct communication with insurance companies.
- Scan and update patient identification cards, insurance cards, vaccine records, and birth certificates into the medical record.
- Explain registration documents to patients, capture patient signatures, and notate forms as needed.
- Utilize effective communication during patient interactions, whether via telephone, email, or face-to-face encounters.
- Book multiple and complex appointments, ensuring accurate data entry and patient information.
- Process patient point-of-sale collections, notifying management of any collection or deposit issues.
- Perform medical necessity assessments and escalate issues to appropriate clinical delegates.
- Apply patient identification practices, including the application of wristbands.
