Senior Commissioning Engineer – Subsea Electrical

Brunel is looking for an experienced Senior Commissioning Engineer for a subsea electrical job in Qatar. The role focuses on subsea electrical systems, including umbilicals and high-voltage power cables. The project runs for 2 years, with a possible extension, and the closing date for applications is 7 November 2026.

Responsibilities

• Define and review electrical subsea pre-commissioning and commissioning methods.
• Plan and carry out high-voltage subsea cable testing.
• Supervise testing of HV and LV umbilicals and termination units.
• Support the installation, commissioning and energization of electrical substation equipment.
• Find and fix faults in electrical systems.
• Support the integration of HV cables and umbilicals.
• Review technical documents, datasheets and procurement specifications.
• Represent the company during Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT) and Site Acceptance Tests (SAT).

Requirements

• Proven professional experience working on offshore marine facilities.
• Relevant experience in subsea electrical commissioning.
• Practical knowledge of HV cables, umbilicals and electrical substation systems.

The work schedule is 8 hours per day, 5 days per week. Pay is a day rate in QAR plus an allowance.
