Senior Accountant

Simply Gourmet is looking for an experienced Senior Accountant to join its Finance and Accounts department. This is a full-time, on-site senior accounting job in Qatar. The role covers day-to-day accounting operations, financial controls, reconciliations, financial reporting and support for audits.

Responsibilities

• Review daily accounting transactions and journal entries.
• Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable.
• Verify invoices, payments and collections.
• Perform bank and balance sheet reconciliations.
• Keep fixed asset and inventory records up to date.
• Handle petty cash and staff advances.
• Lead month-end and year-end closing activities.
• Prepare monthly financial reports.
• Support audits and maintain accurate accounting records.
• Work with other departments to solve discrepancies.

Requirements

• At least 5 to 7 years of progressive accounting experience.
• A Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Commerce or a related field.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
• Practical experience with ERP or accounting systems.
• An ACCA, CMA, CPA or equivalent qualification is an advantage.
• Experience in trading, food distribution, retail, FMCG, logistics or hospitality is preferred.
• Experience working in Qatar is preferred.
